ABOUT
Violet Wong,MA Music Performance (DIstinction) has been a full-time piano teacher and music performer since 2012 with the qualified Trinity College London ATCL Diploma piano performance and ABRSM Grade 8 Trumpet (merit) and Grade 8 Music Theory. As a music educator, Violet's first lead Hong Kong students performed at Bristol Grammar School last October and some talents won prizes in the UK music competitions.
In 2013, Violet was first awarded the talent development scholarship award from the Hong Kong government during the final year of University. Since then , Violet started developed her music career. She has been teaching over 10 years in Hong Kong and UK respectively.
Since 2014, Violet was a former trumpet player in the Hong Kong Civil Aid Service (Band Company) and is well-trained in marching with music. She has performed at different official functions including Officer Mess Dinners, New Recruit Passing Out Ceremonies, and National Flag Raising Ceremonies. In 2015 she was awarded the "Best Progress Member of the Year" in the band. In 2017 she joined the Hong Kong Wind Ensemble and performed in local community halls. In 2020, Violet continued her music career in London and Bristol. She has performed in St. Martin in the Field (Chinese Congregation) and St. Mary Woodford choirs. She also performed in brass bands including the South London Wind Ensemble, the University of Bristol Brass Band (2021/2022), and the Long Ashton Orchestra.
In 2022, she participated in Unibrass 2022 in Sheffield. Violet led her students at the Bristol Festival of Music, Drama, and Speech 2023 where they were awarded distinction and second place. In the same year of September , Violet embarked on her MA in Music Performance at Bath Spa University. During this time, Violet participated in Bath Sparkfest 2023, a funded project by the school titled "Impressions and Expression: La Cathedrale Engloutie". Violet then performed a lunchtime recital in the UK, at Bath Abbey. Meanwhile, she was invited by a Finland Music organiser, as her first time being one of the jury members of the International Scandinavian Instrumental Music Competition 2023.( and also the coming music competition in Finland).
Last year, Violet graduated with MA Music Performance(Distinction) and she is excited about having a new page in her music career. In the same year, Violet had successfully hosted the “The Season Recital “ for her students in Bristol, UK . Afterthat, Violet had also participated in the Kimchi Orchestra and performed the well known orchestral work “Mahler Symphony No.5” in Krakow, Poland.
As a meaningful beginning of the year 2025, Violet first performed piano and trumpet recitals at the Top University of Oxford- This became a remarkable achievement for Violet to showcase Violet’s talents. With aims to expand the music world, hopefully Violet comes to perform in overseas and showcase her talents with the community.
